Hatboro Havoc 2025: Final Reefscape Run

The sound of gears whirring, drive teams shouting, and crowd chants echoing through the arena, Hatboro Havoc was alive once again, and Nemesis 2590 was right in the middle of it. This event marked the beginning of the off-season for FIRST Robotics Competition, a memorable one for all.
This off-season competition this past Saturday wasn’t about rankings or trophies, but it was rather about testing, training, and teamwork. As our robot from the past season, Leonidas, rolled onto the field for its first match, excitement filled the air, but so did a few nerves. We made the decision to focus on consistency and driver practice, skipping autonomous modes and choosing not to hang. Each match became a learning opportunity as well as a chance to experiment and support one another through every challenge.
Even without the flashiest performance, Nemesis found its rhythm. Our determination and communication stood out, earning us a spot as the 6th alliance pick with teams 303 and 2016 during the final playoffs matches. It served as a reminder that what defines a team isn’t just how high it ranks, but it’s how it grows and pushes forward with confidence.
Meanwhile, the real action was happening beyond the field. In the pits, rookies gathered around, watching repairs, asking questions, and getting their first taste of what competition days are truly like. In the stands, others learnt how to scout, analyze matches, and compare notes as they began to understand how match strategy influences performance. Between matches, rookies and veteran team members also explored the venue, traded team buttons, and connected with students from other teams, experiencing the camaraderie and teamwork that make FRC so special.
By the end of the day, although our robot was tired, our drive team was hoarse, and everyone’s feet were sore, the smiles yet never faded. Nemesis may not have gone home with a victory, but we left Hatboro with something even more meaningful: a team of rookies inspired, veterans reengineered, and everyone united by the shared experience of learning together.
As the cars pulled away and the lights dimmed, one thing which was clear was that this was only the beginning. The lessons learned and memories made at Hatboro Havoc will continue to drive Nemesis 2590 forward as they prepare for the next season. We can’t wait to return to Hatboro Havoc next year!
