Nemesis Hosts Digital Literacy Event for Local Seniors
On March 18th, Nemesis hosted its first ever event at the Robbinsville Senior Center. Seniors learned about digital literacy and what we do as a team. We started by showing them how Nemesis helps other groups within our local community. They then learned about the competition by viewing a clip of a winning match from the recent Robbinsville District competition. Through this, members answered questions about our robot and details about our build season. We had a great time interacting with the seniors and showing them what we do!
The main focus of the event was helping them with their digital devices. They asked great questions about the functions of their phones and laptops. We helped them communicate with family and friends, draft and send emails. Also they gained an understanding of what the internet is, and the use of Google services; some of them were even introduced to the benefits of AI! This event helped make an impact by helping the seniors better understand their personal devices, and left with huge smiles on their and our faces.
