My name is Danny Marincas and I’m a senior on the build team. I learned of Nemesis from attending the annual Discovery Day as a middle schooler, and from my first event I looked forward to being a high schooler so that I could join the team. As a member of the team, I get to apply my passion for engineering and robotics towards building an actual robot and learning more about STEM. I enjoy using that knowledge to find innovative solutions to problems I face on the team, and in everyday life.
Last year as a junior, I tried to learn as much as I could about machining and using CAD, and had invaluable experience designing systems that ended up as part of our competition robot. Now that I am a Lead Designer, I intend to use this experience to design a well performing robot for the 2020 season. This year, I am also one of the Chief Technical Officers for the team and plan to use my leadership to enable the build team to thrive during the season. With the skills I have learned over the last 4 years, I hope to give my all as a leader and ensure that what has been taught to me is invested in the leadership of the coming years.
Outside of school, I am and Eagle Scout, and I enjoy participating in activities such as hiking and camping with my local Boy Scout troop. I also like reading, playing video games, and building Legos and other functional models.
I’m excited for the 2020 season, and know that as a team we can achieve any goal that we set forth to fulfill.
