Hello, I’m Nellie Baran and I’m a senior. This is only my second year on the team, but I wish I had joined sooner. Last year I was on the design team; however, I switched to the build team this year. I’m glad I have the opportunity to participate in robotics. Being on the team has enforced my wish to go into the STEM field as a career.

In addition to robotics, I am also a cheerleader. I cheer for the high school as well as a competitive all-star team. Surprisingly, robotics competitions are way more spirited and exciting than most cheerleading competitions.

I’m also on the track team. I sprint, high jump, and pole vault, but I’m not very good at any of those things, which is fine.

In my free time, I like to read (a lot), watch TV, draw, stress about college applications, and take naps, and not listen to country music. Some of my favourite books are the Harry Potter series, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus series, and the A Song of Ice and Fire series. My favourite television shows/movies include Doctor Who, Sherlock, Star Wars, and more.

Unfortunately, this is my last year on the team. I’m looking forward to a successful season just as memorable as the last one!
