Connie Mehl
Class of 2020

Hi! My name is Connie. I’m currently a senior and this is my fourth year on the team. I heard about the robotics team from multiple underclassmen and decided to join. Ever since I was little, I have adored taking things apart. It grew from LEGO’s, to building kits and more complex things. Through joining the robotics team I have significantly improved my technical skills and decided to major in engineering in college.

However, I have learned so much more than how to turn down a shaft on the lathe. Robotics has taught me to deal with conflicts that are inevitable. That not everything will go the way I want it to, but I can accept the compromises and move forward. Robotics has also taught me the skills that I will need in the workforce to effectively communicate and work with others. But most importantly Nemesis has given me a group of friends who are now like my family. It’s given me people that I admire and look up to, and others that I can teach and pass down the knowledge that I’ve gained. The tech lab is a place that I now call my second home. I am so lucky to have been given an opportunity to learn and grow in an environment with others that share the same mindset and goals as me.
