Richa Mandrekar
Class of 2019

Hello, my name is Richa Mandrekar and I'm currently a sophomore on the Nemesis 2590 Build team. Since 6th grade, I have always looked forward to being a part of the Nemesis team. My brother joined the team in his freshman year and he enjoyed it greatly. Whenever he wasn’t home, he was in the tech lab. He became my inspiration for joining the team in my freshman year and luckily it turned out that I loved robotics. Of course, I learned about mechanics and engineering, but I learned about working as a team as well as assisting and communicating with other teams. I developed an interest in the electrical team and scouting while a freshman on the team.

The robotics world was fascinating and very intense (in a good way). There’s always excitement in the arena, whether it’s in the stands, the pit, or on the field. Every competition shows the hardwork and dedication forged during our six weeks build season. I look forward to continuing another year on the build team and further involving myself with Nemesis.

Outside of robotics, I am most always on the tennis court. Tennis is my first sport and I enjoy playing with my friends and working with my coaches as well as participating in many tournaments. Additionally, I frequently run, bike, and enjoy reading science fiction novels. Moreover, I enjoy hiking, camping, and whitewater rafting. I am also a part of Science Olympiad and Model UN in school.

I’m a dedicated student who likes to challenge myself and do all my work to the best of my ability as well as do more than what is required. I am excited for the new year of robotics season and being a part of the Nemesis team.
