Mitaali Taskar
Class of 2016
McGill University

My name is Mitaali Taskar and I’m in my senior year of high school and my fourth year on the team.  I heard of robotics through my sister because she brought home a HexBug from Discovery Day. In my eighth grade, the team presented their 2012 robot, Prince, for the entire school. I figured marketing and finance was my best bet because I could deal with numbers and writing. I’m so glad I took marketing and finance because I know whatever fields I go into, I need to be professional, responsible, and in control. I can feel myself learning and becoming the person I want to become.

I would describe myself as responsible, patient (most of the time), funny, and different. I take all honor courses and two AP classes: AP Calculus BC and AP Chemistry, as well as learning Italian IV.

During my free time, I love to watch videos on YouTube and Netflix, as well as read (note: when I actually have free time). I have many favorite movies, books, and TV shows. So many, in fact, that I have a list on a separate document that cannot be accessed, but if you want to know, just talk to me and I’ll go on for about fifteen minutes!  Among my favorite artists are Ed Sheeran, The Killers, and Parachute.  I am also a great lover of quotes.  I have a separate document that has a few pages worth of quotes (single-spaced). My two quotes from the past years were:

Sophomore Year:

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born … and the day you find out why.” – Mark Twain

Freshman Year:

“Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. – Albert Einstein
