My name is Chinmay Savanur and I am a senior on the Nemesis Software and Strategy Subteams. I joined Nemesis because science, technology, engineering, and mathematics have always been interesting to me. In particular, my affinity for computer science has led me to pursue it as a career. I enjoy solving problems and creating innovative solutions, and the robotics team gives me the opportunity to utilize my interests and skills with real-life applications. Since I joined the team, I have learned a lot about the mechanics and software that goes into making a robot. I learned a lot about the strategy of the game; every competition I would gain a greater understanding of the game challenge and would implement the scouting skills and practices towards winning. During the build season, I worked with programming many of the subsystems and autonomous routines that were key parts of last year’s game. During the competition season, I led the team of data scouts to capture the information on each match to utilize for strategic decisions. I worked closely with the Drive Coach and Driver to formulate pre-match strategy going into the elimination rounds of every competition based on the performance of the opposing robots in prior matches.
Aside from robotics, I participate in Cross Country, Model United Nations, Science Olympiad, National Honor Society, and South Asian Dance Club. In my free time, I enjoy reading and hanging out with friends.
In the 2018-2019 season, I hope to create effective strategy that will guide us towards victory in competition season. Also, I hope to improve my coding skills and develop software for the robot. I’m looking forward to working with my teammates and having a great season.
