Meghna Kuppuraju
Class of 2015
Northeastern

Hello! My name is Meghna Kuppuraju, and I am the Chief Financial Officer and a fourth-year member of Nemesis 2590. Being on the team for the past few years has really taught me a lot about working with others. When I FIRST® entered, I was very timid and unsure of how to do anything finance related, but it turned out that wasn’t a problem. There were many upper classmen and mentors who were able to help me understand what I needed to know. That year, I was given responsibility of the spirit wear orders. Being only my first year, I was very enthused to have been given an actual job. Having been treated as a valuable member from the very beginning instilled me with a sense of confidence which has allowed me to grow as an individual and as a team member. I think this is what I love most about Nemesis; it doesn’t matter how much experience you’ve had or what grade you’re in, so long as you’re dedicated and willing to learn, there is a place for you.

In addition to being on FRC 2590, I enjoy music, both playing and listening to it. Recent endeavors on YouTube have led me to believe my favorite genres are rock and alternative, though my taste is pretty eclectic. I play flute, alto saxophone (kind of), and play marimba as the Front Ensemble captain for our school’s marching band, the Raven Regiment. In addition, I am a part of our school’s Science Olympiad team and the Waksman Student Scholars Program, since I am an aspiring biotechnologist. I also serve as our school’s Literary Magazine Senior Editor of Poetry. Outside of school, I take dance lessons; this is actually my fifteenth year of doing so. Being a member of the robotics team definitely provides a much different experience than the rest of my activities. It has added a different facet to my life, and I must say I absolutely love it.
